Try These 5 Easy Tips to Finally Kick Start Your 2015 Pinterest Marketing

pinterestAre you one of many business owners that have no clue where to start with using Pinterest to market your business? Do you feel it’s not for you to use to market to your audience? Did you know Pinterest is second in popularity under Facebook for visual marketing? It’s true! Your post is more likely to be read and liked if it shown as a graphic image, coupled with content to make it interesting to your followers.

Well, let me help you get a kick start on what are my 5 easy tips to follow to finally put your Pinterest account in motion and utilize it more to market your business this year. 

As part of my marketing goals for 2015, I want to really focus on Pinterest marketing, taking the whole month of January, reintroducing myself to the updated features and analytics that it offers. Just like any social media marketing platform, there will be feature updates and new policies to read up on and adhere to.

Let’s get started on the tips…

1. Set up your Pinterest business account

Setting up a business account for Pinterest is really easy. You can either convert your existing personal account to a business account or you can set up a business account directly. So not to take up a lot of space on this blog post, you can go HERE to read step-by-step on how to set up your business account. It’s an article I wrote as a series of Pinterest marketing tips I shared.

2. Have a specific Pinterest marketing goal

Decide what you want your focus to be. Do you want to focus on more sales? Engagement with your audience? More traffic? More followers? Whatever your preference is, set your goals and stick to it throughout the year. Be sure to track your metrics by using WP Pinner or Tailwind or even the Pinterest analytics section within your account. All of these will work. Just stick with the one that you can easily understand.

3. Create boards with exclusive content

Make a board with exclusive content that you want to feature your business product or services, then promote this board to ALL your social media channels. This will drive traffic to it and create the engagement or increase in sales that you were looking for.

4. Use pin it buttons and Pinterest follow buttons to make it easy for others to share your images

Here’s an article I also wrote last year with several different plugins you can install to add the different pin it buttons and a Pinterest follow button. Of course, many of your different social media share buttons already include a Pinterest icon for people to click on and share your images too.

5. Create your images using these simple tools

Here’s a list of easy platforms to create your images aside from the popular platforms like PicMonkey and Canva that I’ve used and loved.

Last of all, besides following all of my tips above, most importantly, pin often! Just like any social media marketing platform, if you are not consistent with posting, you will not see any result of your efforts. Pin on!
