As someone that promotes and offers blog setup and social media marketing assistance as services in my business, I’m always looking for the best resource sites that provide me with the most up-to-date information on blog content generation techniques and ways to market my blog.
I want to share these same resource sites with you because they have made a huge impact on how I now blog and how I now promote my blog. They are in no particular order, but I do favor some over others in the form of content delivery and how often they provide that information.
Ultimate Blog Challenge
I like the Ultimate Blog Challenge because it’s not a one-time event, but an opportunity to blog consistently for one month, every three months throughout the year. Thanks to the organizers of this challenge event, Michelle Schaeffer and Michele Schism! They sure know their blogging stuff!
It’s a challenge that really helps bloggers put their blog in the forefront of their business. It is an easy way to market your expertise and services when you drive traffic back to your blog and you gain an active following through interested subscribers. I am honored to be a part of this community of bloggers as I embark on my second challenge with this group.
I have actually known about ProBlogger for a few years now, but I really didn’t start really following their content until the mid part of 2012 when I was re-introduced to them from the 31 Days Blog Challenge. Of course, my now favorite blogging expert, Michelle Schaeffer also co-hosts this event. Who knew?!
Michelle and her co-host, Lisbeth Tanz, use the guide, “31 Days to Building a Better Blog”, authored by Darren Rowse, who is also the author of the ProBlogger blog. Using this guide really helped me understand what blogging really does for your business. Every day, you are provided with useful information and an assignment to enhance your blogging experience. I found myself being accountable for making sure I completed each assignment. Even if I did not blog daily, I still gained a lot of insight on how to blog and how to reach my reader audience. The 31 Days Blog Challenge will run again in the first quarter of 2013. I will participate in it again as I know it will help me stay motivated while I continue to blog for 2013 and beyond.
Well it’s no surprise that I have listed Michelle as one of my favorite blogging resource experts! I found Michelle on Twitter one day back in the summer of 2012 and that is how I found out about the blog challenge event she co-hosts and I fell in love with her own blogging resource website! You can find Michelle HERE. I like the fact that she is on top of the latest blogging and blog marketing trends using social media. I look forward to receiving her blog articles in my inbox!
I have been following the Blog Energizer blog for at least the last five years and I continue to enjoy receiving the information from the founder and fellow blogger, Lynette Chandler. Lynette is also an innovative WordPress plugin and app developer. She just released onto iTunes in December 2012, the “Blog Energizer” app for iPhones and iPads. I have downloaded this app on my iPhone and I will definitely be putting it to good use. This app delivers daily blogging ideas and suggestions how to use daily, weekly and monthly events to create content your readers will love. A timer is also included to help you gauge how much time you spend writing. I love technology!
I also want to give the Social Media Examiner blog a shout-out as well because they have been instrumental in providing not only great blog tips, but also everything you need to know about social media marketing and the resources available to make sense of how it all works and how it relates to your blog. As a matter of fact, they just released an article yesterday on the “26 Essentials for Blogging Success: What You Need to Know”. Awesome article! And how timely it is for those that want to blog for the new year!
If you find blogging resource sites that work for you, then by all means continue to follow these sites. The blogging resource sites I provide above are just the ones I have relied on and I can provide an opinion based on my own experiences with them.
Most importantly, what I am trying to convey to you here is that blogging is very important in marketing your business and I hope that many business owners are using it to expand their expertise just beyond the home page or services page of their website.
If you are reading this article and you do not have a blog, let me help you create one and design it for you, if you like. Stop by my blogsite plans page and contact me if you are interested in working with me.
Until tomorrow (Day 5 of The Ultimate Blog Challenge)!
